The Arvind Kejriwal’s  Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday alleged that the Delhi Government is snatching the rights of the poor as it had scaled down the quota for poor students in some city schools from 20% to 15%.

Unlike the quota for EWS student in nursery classes, KG and Class 1, this quota was applicable to any new admissions made from Classes 2 to 12.

The HC had asked the Delhi Government why the clause in more than 350 city schools’ lease documents that said they would have to reserve some seats for students from the EWS section was not being implemented. These schools got land on concessional rates from the government and their lease documents had specified that they would have to reserve seats for the EWS students. HTC
