Delhi police commissioner demands more PCR vans

Delhi police commissioner Neeraj Kumar on Tuesday asked the home ministry to increase the number of police patrolling vehicles to increase police effectiveness in the capital after the gang-rape of a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus on Sunday night.

Kumar said he had asked home secretary RK Singh to provide Delhi police with 370 more Police Control Room (PCR) vans.

"I also submitted a proposal to replace non-functional PCR vans," said Kumar.
