Three persons have suffered bullet wounds after being fired at in two different parts of the city in the last 24 hours.
The first incident took place in north west Delhi’s Model Town area on Friday afternoon when two bike-borne snatchers fired at a crowd to scare them.
Police said the youths were trying to flee after snatching a gold chain of one Narendra, when the victim and some other locals chased them.
The youths, in an attempt to scare off their pursuers, fired twice — once in the air and once targeting Narendra.
The second bullet, though, missed its target and hit a passerby, identified as Chandra Prakash, in his leg.
“A call was made to the police control room and the victim rushed to a nearby hospital. His condition is stated to be stable. We have registered a case and are looking for the assailants,” said a senior police officer.
In the other incident, two youths were thrashed and subsequently shot at by five bike-borne men in north Delhi’s Civil Lines area on Thursday night. The victims, who were heading towards Shahdara on a motorcycle, were later admitted at Sushruta Trauma Centre.
They have been identified as Rehan and Gullu, both residents of Seelampur.
