Two accused have been arrested while the third is on the run.

According to the police, the woman was gang raped after she and her husband were lured to southwest Delhi’s Uttam Nagar on the pretext of separate job interviews.

“Mohit, Vikas and Sanju, who are property dealers and operate mainly in the Najafgarh area, had met the victim and her husband during a trip to Mussourie where the latter were on a honeymoon a few months ago,” said a police officer.

According to the police, the couple hails from Ballabhgarh in Haryana and were in touch with the accused trio after their initial meeting.

It was during one of their subsequent conversations with the accused men that the couple was asked to come to Delhi on Wednesday so that they could appear for two separate job interviews.

“The couple met the men at Dwarka More on Wednesday afternoon. While Vikas and Mohit took the victim to their office in the Mohan Garden area in their Santro, Sanju took her husband to Dwarka,” the officer said.

The police said the victim was then sexually assaulted - apparently at gunpoint — by Mohit and Vikas at their office in the Uttam Nagar area. Meanwhile, Sanju was dropped off in the Nawada area.

“The victim related her ordeal to her husband who then informed the local police. A medical examination confirmed sexual assault and Vikas and Mohit were arrested. Sanju is absconding and will be nabbed soon,” the officer added.

Father held for raping daughter
In another case, a 55-year-old man was arrested for raping his 15-year-old daughter at northwest Delhi’s Kanjhawala.

According to the police, Janaki Lal, the accused, had been raping the girl for several months. He was arrested after the victim opened up to her mother about the prolonged sexual assault.“The victim was staying with her father for several months ever since her parents parted ways due to marital discord,” said an officer.

Her mother, on the other hand, stays with two of the victim’s siblings nearby. “On Thursday, her mother was visiting her. That is when she decided to break her silence on the sexual assault,” said the officer.

A medical examination was conducted, which confirmed rape.
