A 30-year-old divorcee was allegedly gang-raped and filmed in the act by a drunken uncle-nephew duo in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar area on Wednesday, police said.
"The duo has been identified as Shoram Chauhan (41) and his 31-year-old nephew Umesh Chauhan. They have been found to be involved in a similar incident in 2003 and had served a five-year jail term for it," said a senior police officer.
According to police, the incident occurred in Sarita Vihar's Madanpur Khadar area on Monday.
"Shoram stays in an under-construction house in the area and the victim is his neighbour. On Monday, a drunken Shoram called her over to his house to discuss something urgently," the officer said.
According to police, the victim, who is fighting a divorce case in court, has been staying at her parents' house for the last five years.
"When the victim reached the house, the uncle-nephew duo was drinking and was sufficiently drunk. They physically assaulted her before taking turns to rape her. She was also filmed in the act," said the officer.
Police said the duo then threatened her with dire consequences lest she inform anyone about the incident.
"She was so terrified that she helplessly gave in to the sexual abuse even the next day. It was only when Umesh forcibly tried to take her away in his car that she ran to her parents and related the entire incident to them," the officer said.
Based on a complaint received from the victim's parents, both Shoram and Umesh have been arrested.
