A 15-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman approached south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj (south) police station with complaints of sexual assault on Sunday evening.

The police said the girl, whose family grows and sells flowers and vegetables for a living, alleged that she had been raped by a 22-year-old youth, Rajkumar, who works on the same farm.

“She claimed that he had sexually assaulted her a week ago. She was taken to a government hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape,” an officer said. Rajkumar has been arrested.

The 23-year-old woman claimed that one of her neighbours had been raping her regularly after first having sexually assaulted her two months ago.

“The victim, a resident of Kusumpur Pahari, approached us with a complaint against Khemraj claiming that he had been raping her regularly. On Sunday, he was caught in the act by her mother who then encouraged her to report the matter. He was arrested,” the officer said.

The police said two women were apparently harassed by two drunk men who even assaulted police personnel when the latter stepped forward to assist the victims on Sunday in south Delhi’s South Extension Part I market.

“The victims were having snacks at a roadside vendor in the evening when the accused duo approached them and started passing lewd comments before trying to molest one of them,” said an officer.

According to police, when a passerby alerted two beat policemen about the incident and they reached the spot to help the victims, the accused duo attacked them too before fleeing the spot.

“They have been identified and a case has been registered. The accused will be arrested soon,” an officer said.

A 23-year-old woman, who lived in east Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar and had got married on February 5, went missing from north Delhi’s Chandni Chowk Metro station on Sunday.

“She was with her husband, and the couple entered the Metro station when they got separated. He couldn’t find her after that,” said an officer.

According to police, the couple had gone to the bustling north Delhi market for shopping.

She was later spotted in Kashmere Gate ISBT while trying to flee the city with her alleged lover.

Ghaziabad police have registered a case against four men for allegedly gang-raping a 24-year-old woman.

The woman has alleged that the four gang-raped her in a Sahibabad flat at gunpoint on Saturday.

“She has alleged that one of the accused, Raju, was her boyfriend. Raju, 45, made her stay at several locations and continued raping her,” said a police officer.
