A 26-year-old electrician was arrested while allegedly attempting to smuggle nearly two kilograms of hashish valued at several lakhs, police said on Sunday.

According to the police, the hashish were meant to be distributed for subsequent sale across various slums in the Capital.

Identified as Mintu Shah from Bihar’s Gopalganj district, the accused was intercepted and subsequently nabbed near central Delhi’s Minto Road near Kamla Market on Saturday, said Devesh Chandra Shrivastava, additional CP(central).
