Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit would inaugurate on Tuesday a permanent exhibition-cum-museum at the Ghalib Haveli, which will feature his writings, costumes, photographs and incidents related to his life.
Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), in association with the
government of Delhi, has come forward to put this permanent exhibition-cum-museum, which will also feature sound tracks of his work as a permanent display feature to attract local and foreign tourists to the heritage haveli. The famous shayar Mirza Ghalib spent time at this haveli from 1860 to 1869.
A candle light procession, at 6.30pm, from Town Hall to Gali Qasim Jaan in Chandni Chowk would mark the 12th year celebrations of 'Yaadgaar-e-Ghalib'.
Noted Kathak exponent Uma Sharma, famed lyricist Gulzar and Pavan K Varma, ambassador of India to Bhutan, would be present on the occasion.
