Get ready for traffic congestion and diversions on city roads this weekend because of two religious processions - (Nagar Kirtan) on the Martyrdom Day of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur on Saturday and Moharram Tazia processions on Sunday.

The Nagar Kirtan will start at 9.30am on Saturday from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and terminate at Gurdwara Rakab Ganj.

Traffic jams on several roads are expected till 11.30pm, said police.

Traffic diversions are expected at several points, including Subhash Marg crossing, HC Sen Marg-SPM Marg, Town Hall, Sita Ram Bazar, Asaf Ali Road, Ajmeri Gate, DBG Road Pahar Ganj, Chelmsford/Basant Road, Punchkuian/Basant Road, and Minto Road.

On Moharram on Sunday, Anjuman-E-Taziadaran will take out Tazia processions during the night between Saturday and Sunday from 9pm. All Tazias will assemble at Chowk Hauz Qazi at 4am and come to Chowk Jama Masjid.

At about 10am, all Tazia processions from nearby areas will start from their respective places.
