A major fire broke out at a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) office on Monday morning. A fire service official said no one was injured in the incident.

The incident was reported around 7am from the third floor of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) building on Lodhi Road in south Delhi where the DMRC office is situated.

A fire service official said 22 fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the blaze was doused by 9am.

“The fire engulfed the 1,000 square-metre DMRC office. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained but it seems to be an electrical short circuit that started it. No one received any injuries,” said the fire official.
