A Jabalpur-bound SpiceJet plane with 81 people onboard had to return to the IGI airport here on Saturday after its pilot detected a technical snag soon after take-off.

The SpiceJet flight (SG 2431) took off at 8.10am from the IGI airport for Jabalpur but the pilot experienced some technical snag and decided to return, an airline spokesperson said.

The pilot of the Bombardier Q400 aircraft asked for a technical landing from the air traffic control (ATC) and made a safe landing with all 77 passengers and four crew members, the spokesperson said, adding that it was not an emergency landing.

Later, passengers were boarded in an another aircraft that left for Jabalpur.
