Dense fog affected flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) for the second consecutive day with over 200 flights getting affected on Sunday night and Monday morning.

The Met department has predicted the situation to remain same on Tuesday.

"The dense fog is likely to continue Monday night with not much respite," RK Jenamani, director of IGIA MET department said.

According to Jenamani, there may be some reduction from Wednesday, but fog is again likely to intensify from Thursday.

Fog started affecting flight operations from 10pm on Sunday but the situation started improving after 10am Monday.

With 12 hours of dense fog, 18 flights were diverted to alternative airports that include 15 domestic, 2 international and one international VIP.
