Former HT journalist Rakshat Puri passes away

Rakshat Puri, a veteran journalist who covered the Vietnam war for Hindustan Times, passed away on Thursday. He was 88.

Puri's association with this newspaper spanned for more than three decades, including a 11-year stint at HT's foreign correspondent in London. On his return to India, he worked as a senior editor at the newspaper until his retirement. His column Midstream used to appear in the Hindustan Times every week.

He would be cremated on Friday at 10.30 am at Nigambodh Ghat. Puri is survived by his wife and two daughters.
