This Sunday, the Shri Ram School, Vasant Vihar, is the place to be as the Mad About Heritage Festival will take on the young ones of the Capital.
The Shri Ram School's chairman, Arun Bharat Ram, will inaugurate the festival which will witness a lot of action and excitement in the form of stalls setup by students from Nursery to Grade 5.
The Rang Manch, a performing arts arena, will bring in music, dances and rhythmic movements from the rich colourful tapestry of India's performing arts. There will also be an akhada, the games arena, which will provide youngsters with an opportunity to try their hands at traditional Indian games and sports like chauser, kanche, kabaddi and hockey.
Dastakaar Haat, with art & craft activities like kite-making, bangle making, patachitra paintings from Orissa and more shall delight the gathering. There will also be films on bioscope and katputhli naach.
Vastrascope, a tribute to Indian textiles, will showcase traditional clothing of different regions of our country. Discovery Kids Theatre will screen captivating short films including Air Mystery Hunters while a photo exhibition, Monumental Moment, will showcase the students' artistry with a camera lens!
A canopy under the keekar tree on the campus will house an array of Amar Chitra Katha graphic novels for sale. And when the young ones are tired and hungry, they can head for the Pakwaan Bazaar and dig into the delicacies from Colonel Kababz, Cuisine Art, Puraani Dilli ka Khaana among others.
The organisers are expecting a footfall of 5,000 in the event.
