The Child Welfare Committee has decided to shift the five-year-old rape victim to a guesthouse after she is discharged from the hospital. The CWC of east Delhi has expressed apprehension that she may catch infection again if sent home so early.

"We don't want the child to return to her house as a number of people might invade their privacy. Her parents have given us their consent and we have started looking for suitable accommodation for at least six months," said Ajay K. Singh, chairman of CWC east.

The CWC is also working on a rehabilitation plan for the minor girl. A team of CWC members had visited the girl and her parents on Tuesday. A final decision is yet to be taken.
