The Centre has denied presence of harmful additives in soft drinks as claimed by NGO CPIL, which petitioned before SC for a strict regulatory mechanism for manufacturing and marketing of the beverages.
In a report filed before SC, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) sought the petition's dismissal on grounds that the mechanism was in place.
The SC bench has asked the Centre to file records of the proceedings and put it up for hearing on December 3.
