The Delhi High Court on Monday extended by five more days its permission to a 25-year-old youth to hold peaceful protests at Jantar Mantar against the December 16 brutal gangrape and murder of a 23-year-old woman in a moving bus.

"The petitioner is allowed to hold peaceful protest till January 11," Justice SP Garg said and disposed of the plea of Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, president of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena, who was detained from December 24, 2012 to January 2.

Bagga had approached the court, claiming that he was "illegally detained" for the past 10 days and was not allowed to take part in the anti-rape protests here.
