Highlights of Narendra Modi's speech at Ficci meet

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Monday addressed the annual general body meeting of the ladies' wing of industry lobby FICCI in New Delhi.

He was speaking on the topic "Unleash the entrepreneur within: Exploring new avenues".

These are highlights of his speech:

* I am happy that women of our country want to ask me so many questions about our society and nation

* Mother has the highest position in our society

* Everything we regard as sacred, we address it as mother

* Female foeticide is a sign that we are going back to 18th century #FICCI

* In the 21st century, girls are aborted inside mother's womb: Narendra Modi

* When will our society recognize woman power

* The data on female infanticide is shocking

* The number of women is declining, leading to societal imbalance

* Both men and women have a role to play in female infanticide

* In many states, boys are finding no girls to marry, this is an imbalance in our society

* It's a matter of concern for all of us as they are a part of this society

* I know women who decided not to marry and dedicate their lives to looking after their parents

* Boys want to marry women who are working, times are changing

* The houses for Gujarat earthquake victims were given in the name of the woman of the family

* Women will become stakeholders in decision-making if they are financially independent

* If anyone buys property on the name of the woman of their family in Gujarat, they will not have to pay the stamp duty

* More than 300 villages in Gujarat have their businesses in the name of the woman of their family

* I disagree with westerners' view that Indian women are housewives

* It is important to integrate woman power with India growth story

* Lijjat papad was started by Gujarat's tribal women, symbolizing the model of entrepreneurship

* We should make efforts to creates environment for women to develop and use their potential

* Women play a crucial role in our society. 50% of the work is done by them

* I have weaknesses like all men , but I work on my strong points

* Nobody talks about women' contribution in Gujarat, that's why I talk about them
