Two minors, including a four-year-old, were raped in separate incidents reported from the city in the past 24 hours, police said.

In the first incident, a four-year old girl was allegedly raped by her neighbour when she was alone at her house in west Delhi’s Paschim Vihar.

The accused, identified as Hira Lal, 19, was arrested after a case of rape was registered against him at the Paschim Vihar police station. Lal used to work as a labourer.

A police officer said the incident came to light on Friday night when the victim’s parents, who were away, returned home.

The girl told her mother that Lal had forced himself on her.

“It was learnt that the accused had barged into the house when the victim was alone, raped her and fled.

The girl was taken to a nearby hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape,” said the officer.

He added that a neighbour of the victim had spotted the accused coming out of her house.

The second incident was reported from outer Delhi’s Sonia Vihar where a 12-year-old girl was kidnapped and raped allegedly by an unidentified person on Friday evening.

The incident took place when the girl was at home with her younger brother.

The girl, a police officer said, in her statement told them that an unknown person entered the house and forcefully took her to a nearby field and raped her.

The girl’s father, who returned home in the evening, found her missing and started a search.

He also made a PCR call after which a police team joined the search for the missing girl.

“The girl, later, returned home and narrated the incident to her father. She was then rushed to Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where a medical examination confirmed rape,” the officer said, adding a case has been registered.
