Continuing with the cross-examination for the fourth consecutive day in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case, CBI investigating officer AGL Kaul on Monday said his senior officials had not agreed on filing a chargesheet in the case.

Kaul on Monday revealed before the court that senior CBI officials Neelabh Kishore and Javed Ahmed wanted a case-closure report to be filed while he himself wanted to file a chargesheet against the accused.

The CBI had previously filed a final report in the case in December 2010 before a Ghaziabad court. Later, a special judicial magistrate had taken cognizance of the report in February 2011 and issued summons against Aarushi’s parents Dr Rajesh Talwar and Dr Nupur Talwar. Both are presently facing trial for murders of their daughter Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj Banajde.

Kaul stated that he had recommended filing a charge-sheet against the accused but his senior officers Neelabh Kishore and Javed Ahmed felt that sufficient material was not available for filing a charge-sheet in the case and that is why he had forwarded a final report.
