The struggle for a Greater Nagalim that brings together Naga people living in different states in the northeast and neighbouring Myanmar is as real as the demand for a separate state of Vidarbha, a backward and neglected region of Maharashtra, as is the call for Gorkhaland in West Bengal and the struggle for Bodoland state in Assam.

HT decided to interview prominent leaders from these four movements for separate statehood because of the significance of these movements in the country today.
