Leopard rescued in Chhattarpur

In a seven-hour rescue operation by the Delhi Police and the fire department, an injured adult leopard was on Tuesday rescued from South Delhi’s Chhattarpur area.

The leopard, possibly from the Aravalli hills, was spotted leaping onto a high wall of a farm house by a local guard. The leopard in an attempt to scale the 15-foot wall got impaled on the metal spikes on the wall and was trapped for a long time.

The police contacted the Wildlife SOS helpline and a team of rescue members arrived at the location. The Wildlife SOS arranged a leopard transport cage and the team worked hard to tranquilize it and transport it to the safety of the veterinary hospital in the Delhi Zoo.
