A 24-year-old B.Com final-year student, working as a manager at a branded garment showroom in a Vasant Kunj mall, was arrested two years after he stole the motorcycle of his former employer.

The police recovered the stolen Royal Enfield Bullet Electra motorcycle from the parking lot of the mall where the accused was currently working.

Police said the accused, identified as Javed Khan, a resident of Devli extension, had stolen the motorcycle from an authorised parking lot of another mall in Saket. Khan stole it to avenge the humiliation he suffered at the hands of his former boss and because he had lost his job because of him, said a police officer. The accused was then working as a sales executive at a different garment showroom in a Saket mall, he added.

Since the motorcycle was stolen from an authorised parking lot in 2012, police had registered a case against the parking attendant and had booked him for negligence. The parking attendant not only lost his job but was also sent to jail in connection with the incident, the officer said.

Chhaya Sharma, DCP (south), said Khan was arrested following information that he rides a stolen Bullet motorcycle. During interrogation, the senior officer said, Khan told them that he had stolen the motorcycle of his former boss, Kovid Karanval, from the parking lot using a duplicate key.
