Mathematics exhibition at Mayoor School, Noida

Mayoor School, Noida organised a Mathematics exhibition recently. Around 150 students participated and exhibited various aspects of the subject which are applied in real life. They prepared models of a Suspension Bridge, Truss Bridge, Theodolite, Clinometer and Archimedian Screw Model. Geoboards were also made to prove different properties and theorems. The exhibition gave students an opportunity to explore the various facets of the subject and keep them updated about the latest in technology. The exhibition was appreciated by Principal Sarita Madhok and vice-principal Paramjeet Kaur.

Summer Fields School, Kailash Colony, received the outstanding award at the Face to Faith award ceremony on the occasion of 'World Religion Day' under the aegis of the Tony Blair Faith Foundation, UK. Soli Sorabjee, distinguished constitutional expert and former attorney general of India and Maja Daruwala, executive director, Commonwealth Human Rights Initiative gave away the awards. The award was a befitting tribute to the students' earnest efforts at making the world a better place. The speakers of the day shared their views on issues related to religion, the idea of secularism in India, tolerance and people's interpretation of the tenets of different religions.

Sri Venkateshwar International School, Dwarka hosted Junior  Wing's annual cultural day in which folk tales of the world were presented. Group Capt Ishwar Singh, advisor Venkateshwar Group of Schools and Sailander Solanki, school chairman, attended the function. The Welsh delegates of academicians led by Tegwen Ellis and the naturalist PK Datta were the guests of honour. The day witnessed the artistic endowments of the students as they portrayed the folk tales from the far off continent of South America to the fables of Asia. It marked the cherished brilliance of sheer artistry exuded through the performances as the students brought out the underlying morals, touching a chord with the audience.

Neo Convent Senior Secondary School, Paschim Vihar celebrated its annual sports day 'Kesaria'. Chief guest on the occasion was Daljeet Kaur (Retd), Additional director of education at State Council of Educational Research & Training. The event started with the lamp lighting followed by march past by all the four houses. Inter-house races and relay races were also held. Advait House was adjudged to be the best house. Winners were awarded mementos by principal Dr. Kushaldeep Kaur.
