The NDA has reversed its earlier decision to boycott home minister P Chidambaram in Parliament because it now wants debates in both Houses on the controversy over the National Counter Terrorism Centre and the alleged “threat to federalism”.

SS Ahluwalia, BJP deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, said, “As home minister, he (Chidambaram) will have to explain why the Centre is encroaching on

federalism and depriving the states of their roles.”

During the winter session, the NDA boycotted the minister to push for a probe into his alleged role in the 2G scam.
