Black money running into thousands of crore played a crucial role in the killing of Ponty Chadha and his brother Hardeep at a farmhouse in south Delhi.

Investigations revealed that former chief of Uttarakhand minorities commission Sukhdev Singh Namdhari — already charged with killing Hardeep — is the biggest beneficiary of Ponty’s death.

Sources said only Ponty, Hardeep and Namdhari knew where the unaccounted money was, and with the brothers dead, Namdhari is now the only person who can retrieve it.

What’s more, a senior police officer said, “Ponty had bought around 2,000 acres in South Africa and his business was also expanding in Dubai. As Namdhari looked after his business in Uttarakhand, Ponty bought land in his name.”

He said, “We are verifying whether the land in South Africa was bought in Namdhari’s name.” Although, tightlipped on whether Namdhari could be behind Ponty’s murder too, police sources said he had been provoking Ponty against Hardeep.
