Key Metro stations and streets around India Gate were shut down on Sunday and Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, banning assembly of five or more people, was imposed. There were water cannons and tear gas shells. But, all of young India, and not just 25,000 Delhiites, continued to erupt in protest against sexual harassment.

These pictures, in its many slogans, reflect the unanimous call of the country’s youth — zero tolerance for crime against women. While protests at India Gate and dialogue continued to go on in the bus gangrape case that has caused a never-before public upheaval, youth from other cities such as Mumbai, Allahabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Ahmedabad also raised their voices.
