A 27-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour at outer Delhi's Aman Vihar when her husband was away on Friday evening, police said.
According to police, the victim stays in Prem Nagar area with her husband, who is employed with a private firm, and had just returned from the neighbourhood market when the assailant pounced on her.
"She had just stepped inside her house when Naresh, 31, who had been able to gain access to her house in her absence, jumped on her before proceeding to sexually assault her at the point of a knife," said an officer.
According to police, Naresh then threatened to kill her and fled. However, the victim rushed to the local police station and lodged her complaint. A police team then took her to the Sanjay Gandhi Hospital where doctors confirmed sexual assault. "A case has been registered and we are on the lookout for Naresh," the officer added.
