The Delhi Police are yet to subject the men accused of raping the 23-year-old woman to any kind of psychological analysis, sources said.

Terming it 'Delhi's Nithari', in reference to the infamous Noida case involving the mass murder and cannibalism of children five years ago, psychologists and senior officers found the present case bizarre.

"The accused, after subjecting their victims to horrific brutality, have remained confident and unrepentant," said a police officer.

In the Nithari Case, the CBI had nailed one of its prime accused, Surender Koli, on the basis of CrPC 164 statements before a magistrate, his various scientific tests and psychological profiling by a panel of doctors at AIIMS.

"If we are able to identify the broad contours of these animals’, we can at least sensitise our own officers about the criminal mind and the bestial limits it can reach," said the officer, wishing to remain anonymous. "The nation needs an explanation about what these men actually are," said Dr Pulkit Sharma, a clinical psychologist at VIMHANS.

"It would help educate the common masses about how to deal with perpetrators of such crime at emotional and psychological level."
