Brace yourself for another round of power cuts, this time in north Delhi areas that fall under the Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL). The power distributing company will be taking up augmentation and maintenance work on Thursday.
“To ensure stable and uninterrupted power supply and no equipment failure or breakdowns, augmentation and maintenance work will be carried out in some areas on Thursday. Due to this, power supply is likely to be affected tomorrow,” said a spokesperson.
In Badli areas such Master Mohalla and parts of J-Block Sardar Colony in Sector-16, power supply will be affected between 11 am and 1 pm. In Prahlad Pur, supply will be affected between noon and 2pm.
In Civil Lines, parts of RP Bagh will face power cuts between 10am and noon. “In Keshavpuram, areas such as Wazirpur Industrial Area will face power cuts from 8am to 10am. A few areas in Mangolpuri, Moti Nagar, Pitampura and Shalimar Bagh will be affected too,” the spokesperson said.
In the past few days, the city has been reeling under massive power cuts, which the discoms have attributed to shortage of supply in the northern grid. Delhi witnessed the highest power demand on June 6, when it touched 5642 MW, the highest in the past 10 years.
