Officers look on as mob kills Leopard

An agitated mob killed a leopard in the presence of senior forest, police and civic officers in a village under Sector 55 police station on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred when the leopard attacked a woman in Kheri Gujran village earlier in the day.

Even as the cornered leopard climbed a tree, wildlife officials rushed to the spot with tranquilliser guns to sedate the wild animal. But all efforts failed as a strong mob chased the leopard and killed it.

“The villagers killed the leopard on the spot,” said Gashi Ram Bhadana, sarpanch, Kheri Gujran village. “Yes, the mob killed the leopard,” said V Tyagi, DFO, Faridabad range.
