Satish Kumar worked as a security guard with the call centre. The cab was on its way to Ghaziabad to drop employees around 4 am when it overturned on Ring Road in RK Puram.

“The cab belonged to a call centre in Gurgaon. Kumar, who was sitting in front, was killed instantly when the Tavera overturned,” a police officer said.

Employees travelling in the cab told the police that the driver was speeding. “We have arrested the driver and booked him for rash and negligent driving and death due to negligence,” the officer added.

Driver Mukesh Kumar, who was injured in the mishap, has been arrested and sent to jail. One of the employees present in the cab made a call to the police control room (PCR).

All of them were rushed to AIIMS Trauma Centre where five were discharged after first aid, the police said.

Woman run over

In another incident, an unidentified woman was run over several times by vehicles on the Jungpura flyover Friday night.

The woman, police said, was first hit by unknown vehicle and later her body crushed beyond recognition under the wheels of several vehicles. The victim, aged around 30, was possibly crossing the flyover when she was hit, the police said.

“The vehicle dragged her several for feet and her face was badly crushed due to the impact,” said a senior police officer.

The police found a broken piece of a white bumper near the flyover which is suspected to be that of the vehicle which hit the woman.
