PM's special envoy meets Nawaz Sharif in Pakistan

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s special envoy SK Lambah on Monday met the president of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Nawaz Sharif at Lahore.


Sharif, the prime minister designate of Pakistan, conveyed his deep appreciation for Singh’s gesture. 

Lambah’s visit was a follow-up to the telephonic conversation between Singh and Sharif on May 12.  

“Special envoy Lambah conveyed to mian Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh’s greetings and good wishes for his tenure as Prime Minister of Pakistan,” according to a government statement.  

Sharif and Lambah took the opportunity to discuss ways to take the dialogue process forward to address all issues of concern to the two countries and to advance peace, friendship and cooperation between the two South Asian neighbours, the statement added.
