Three police personnel, including a sub-inspector, were attacked when they went to arrest a criminal involved in several cases in northeast Delhi's Nand Nagri on Sunday.

Despite sustaining minor injuries in the attack, the police team managed to nab the criminal, identified as Zile Singh. Singh was allegedly involved in a robbery case in Nand Nagri.

The police team went to conduct a raid after they received an input that Singh was hiding in J-Block. They went to his place around 8.45am to arrest him, where he lived with his wife Sunita and a daughter.

Singh was standing outside his house with his relative Amit when the police team reached there. He attempted to flee but was chased and overpowered.

"They were about to leave the place when Singh's daughter came out and threw chilli powder in the eyes of the constables. Singh managed to free himself but a sub-inspector nabbed him. Then Sunita and Amit attacked the police officer as well as the two constables. Singh also fired at the sub-inspector but he ducked," said a senior officer.
