Ishwar Singh, 28, the accused, has been arrested and the country-made pistol used in the crime recovered from his possession. Singh has been booked in an attempt-to-murder case.

A police officer said there had been a dispute between Pinkesh and Singh over a property. On Thursday night, Pinkesh had gone to Singh’s house in Brijpuri to discuss the issue.

“An argument broke out and Singh fired at Pinkesh. The bullet hit him in the thigh. Hearing the gunshot, a neighbour called the police,” said the officer.

A police team soon reached Singh’s house and rushed Pinkesh to GTB hospital, where he underwent a surgery and is now stable.
