Authorities in a city college on Tuesday said it was a former student who sent a fresher to the hostel room of two seniors where he was allegedly ragged.
Sources in the Kirori Mal College administration said they have identified a former student as the person who sent first year student Ashutosh to the room of Hani Mohammed and Akshay Chaudhury where he was ragged allegedly by them.
However, sources refused to provide the identity of the former student. Interestingly, the college yesterday rusticated an "unidentified" student besides expelling Hani and Akshay for the illegal act.
Both the students, hailing from Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr, were later arrested. Sources said the former student, who completed his graduation from the college, is presently trying to gain admission in a Masters programme in the college. Meanwhile, parents of the two students today met Principal Bhim Sen Singh.
"They came to the college today. They met me and said they have full faith in the college administration. They told me that they will support whatever action the college takes," Singh claimed.
Ashutosh was ragged for about 30 minutes allegedly by the duo on Sunday evening. He reported the incident to hostel warden Kumar Amarender Singh who forwarded his written complaint to the Principal.
