With the city experiencing light showers for most part of the morning, President Pratibha Patil hosted her third "at home" function inside the Rashtrapati Bhavan instead of the usual majestic Mughal Gardens.

The function attended by the politicians, police and army top brass, members of the diplomats and eminent persons from various walks of life was held at the Ashoka, Darbar and the Banquet Halls of the sprawling Rashtrapati Bhavan.

It was 10 years ago during the presidentship of K R Narayanan that the "at home" was earlier held inside the Bhavan rather than in the Mughal Garden.

President Patil went around and met the dignitaries present.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Council of Ministers, Vice President Hamid Ansari, Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi were among some of the guests who had attended the function.

Also seen was Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan.
