Team Anna’s listless agitation at the Capital’s Jantar Mantar got some life on Friday as yoga guru Baba Ramdev joined in, bringing along hundreds of supporters.
Anna Hazare’s team also mobilised support from Haryana.
From a few hundred in the morning, the crowd swelled to about 4,000 when Ramdev arrived at 3.30pm. But the differences with Team Anna over the anti-corruption campaign showed up again as he disapproved of the allegations against President Pranab Mukherjee.
“The president’s office is a constitutional post. One shouldn’t criticise those who occupy constitutional posts. Even Hazare agrees with this,” Ramdev said at Ramlila Maidan before reaching Jantar Mantar. He attacked PM Manmohan Singh, saying it was shameful the world called him an ‘underachiever’.
