Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit on Sunday reiterated his demand for the removal of city police commissioner Neeraj Kumar, saying there was a need to send out a strong message after the rape of the five-year-old minor in Gandhi Nagar.
Sandeep, who is the son of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit besides being one of the spokespersons of Congress, had earlier also called for the removal of Kumar for his failure to act during the December 16 gang rape case.
“My stand on the removal of police commissioner stays the same. When such an incident takes place you are accountable to the people,” Sandeep, who is the east Delhi MP, said. He also repeated the earlier demand that the Delhi Police be brought under the control of city government.
