Scorching week ahead for Delhi

Summer is just round the corner, as Delhi is going to be pretty hot next week.

According the India Meteorological Department's (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature in the city is expected to touch 30 degrees Celsius on Friday. The temperature for most of the next week will be around 29 degrees.

On Saturday, the maximum temperature was recorded as 26.8 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year. The minimum temperature was recorded as 11.7 degrees Celsius, also normal.

According to the weatherman, the maximum and minimum temperatures on Sunday are expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees, respectively.

Mist is also expected in the morning. With the winter season officially over, the IMD also came out with a final analysis of the rainfall in the city in January and February.

"Due to five western disturbances, the rain in Delhi was 220% above the normal mark," said OP Singh, deputy director general meteorology, New Delhi Regional Met Centre.
