A Delhi court, which on Tuesday sentenced former haryana chief minister OP Chautala, his son Ajay Chatuala and 53 others to jail in junior basic trained teachers' recruitment scam, spelt more trouble for the father-son duo as it asked the CBI to start a separate probe into the alleged scam in selection of secondary school teachers.

Like the JBT teachers, the recruitment of senior secondary teachers too had happened during Chautala senior's tenure as chief minister during July 1999-March 2005.

“I recommend that the CBI should start investigation in respect of the selections of teachers under Directorate of Secondary Education which happened during the same time,” Special CBI Judge Vinod Kumar said in the 34-page-order on sentence.

Holding that certain evidence has been laid during the trial in the JBT scam which indicated the possibility of similar scam in recruitment of secondary school teachers, the court said, “The CBI should not close its eyes on this aspect on the ground that the second set of award lists is not available.”

IAS Sanjiv Kumar, who has been sentenced along with OP Chautala and Ajay Chautala to a 10-year-jail term, had specifically mentioned that the same scam had taken place in the selections of the teachers under the Directorate-Secondary Education during the same time.
