Delhi government and Delhi Police have drawn up a joint action plan to check increasing number of cases of sexual assault on women and deteriorating law and order situation in the Capital.

The plan is likely to be announced on Thursday.

Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit met police commissioner Neeraj Kumar on Thursday and the two came face to face with women activists and non-government organisations who questioned the police's and the government's ability to ensure safety of women in the national Capital.

Later, the chief minister went to Safdarjung Hospital to meet the 23-year-old gangrape victim.
