Singing carols is one of the oldest traditions associated with Christmas. Most old-timers remember their childhood when they went from one household to another in the weeks before Christmas to sing carols.

In Delhi, the Delhi Christian Chorus was the first formal choir that started in 1965. From that time onward, the Chorus has presented three concerts of sacred classical and modern music every year - two at Christmas time and one during the lent and Easter period.

The Delhi Christian Choir has inspired many others. The Capital City Minstrels is a choir well known for its secular nature. The group started in 1994 and today has more than

50 active members. It holds a Peace Concert in October and a Spring Concert in April along with performances around Christmas time.

It has Christians, Sikhs, Hindus and Jews as members.
