Police said the minor was playing outside her DDA flat when her neighbour lured her with a chocolate to his flat. “He then raped her in his flat and threatened to kill her if she told anyone about the incident,” a police officer said.

The victim, the officer said, reached her house and narrated the incident to her parents. The parents then lodged a complaint at the Chandni Mahal police station. The child was taken to a government hospital where her medical examination confirmed rape. “A case of rape was registered and the accused was arrested,” added the officer.

In another incident, a 24-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour at her house in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar. The incident took place three days back but came to light only on Sunday after she lodged a complaint. Police have arrested accused Mohammad Shami, 27.

In her complaint, the woman told the police that she was alone at home when Shami came and raped her.

“For two days, she kept mum. But on Sunday, she finally told her parents about the incident and later lodged a complaint. The accused has been arrested after her medical examination confirmed rape,” said the officer.
