Preparations are on in full swing at Jantar Mantar where Team Anna embarks on an indefinite fast from Wednesday.

Anna Hazare will not fast from day one. Instead, it will be Arvind Kejriwal, Manish Sisodia and Gopal Rai. Around 1,000 supporters will join the agitation under the India Against Corruption (IAC) banner. Across India, the number is expected to be around 5,000.

Hazare announced that he would wait for four days for the government's response.

“Otherwise, I too will join the fast unto death from July 29,” he said.

Apart from a huge dais, a long waterproof pandal is being prepared to accommodate those joining the fast. People have already registered themselves at a counter on the spot to volunteer during the agitation.

The largest team of volunteers will take care of those on fast.

"We plan to deploy 2-3 volunteers for every 10 such people. This is necessary for looking after their medical needs, health and sanitation," the IAC office bearer said.

The other teams will comprise those for crowd management, sanitation, medical emergencies, information desk and also for distribution of water.

Earlier in the day, hundreds of people joined team Anna to welcome Hazare at the airport.

On Wednesday, Hazare and other members will pay tributes at Rajghat before reaching Jantar Mantar.
