From this year, students applying to the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) at University of Delhi have to fill up their application online. The management institute, which is one of the most sought after in the country, till last year gave students a choice to either apply online or in person.
Speaking about the application process going completely online, Professor K. Mamkoottam, dean of the faculty, said: "It is basically to reduce the administrative and paper work. Going online will help prevent errors and also speed up the whole application process. Besides less paper work is also environment-friendly."
Last year, the institute received a whopping 60,000 application forms for 166 seats. The admission process for the academic year 2011 begins from September 6 and the last date of receiving the application form is October 15.
The entrance test for Master of Business Administration (Full Time) and PhD will be held on December 5, 2010. The date of entrance test for Master of Business Administration (Part Time) and Master of Business Administration-Health Care Administration (Part Time) is January 23, 2010.
Admit cards for MBA (FT) and PhD test will be given from the second week of November. For MBA (PT) and MBA (PT) HCA, candidates will get admit cards from last week of December.
Candidates applying to the programmes have to apply through the FMS website www.fms.edu.
