Three die of swine flu in Delhi

Three people infected with swine flu died in the capital on Tuesday, taking the toll due to the deadly virus to 38, a health official said, adding that the number of confirmed cases had risen to 1,201. "A total of three people died in different city hospitals due to the virus today. One
case was from Sir Ganga Ram hospital. Two of them were from Delhi, while one patient had come from Haryana," Debashish Bhattacharya, Delhi government's nodal officer for H1N1 cases, told IANS. 

With this, the toll in the city has climbed to 38, of which 14 were outstation patients.

"With another 36 patients testing positive for the virus on Tuesday, the number of laboratory-confirmed swine flu cases in the city has risen to 1,201 so far this year," Bhattacharya added. 

The common symptoms of swine flu are cold, cough, fever, sore throat and headache.

The health ministry has proposed to the states and union territories to make vaccination mandatory, if required.
