Members of Parliament from Trinamool Congress and Telangana staged separate protests inside Parliament complex.

Trinamool MPs sat on a dharna infront of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue in Parliament raising slogans against the UPA government’s decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail after they failed to muster adequate support for their no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha.

The Trinamool MPs accused the Congress led UPA government of playing with future of millions of small traders by allowing FDI in multi-brand retail and failing to meet its commitment in Lok Sabha to introduce the FDI only after reaching consensus on the issue.

Earlier in the day, seven Members of Parliament, representing Telangana, sat at the main entrance to Parliament demanding creation of a separate state. They also accused the Central government of delaying a decision in this regard.
