The sixth accused in the gangrape of the 23-year-old woman on a bus last week was identified by her 28-year-old friend at west Delhi's Tihar Jail on Wednesday.
Akshay Kumar Singh, or Thakur, the last to be arrested in the case, took part in a test identification parade at jail No. 4 around 3pm, during which the victim's friend, who was witness to the brutal assault, was able to recognise Singh "almost immediately", police said.
A police team had to camp at Singh's native village in Aurangabad, Bihar, to nab him. "He was the man who had cooked food for Ram Singh's party on the day of the incident," said an officer.
Police also claimed that Akshay was the second man to have sexually assaulted the victim.
