Woman escapes abduction bid

A 55-year-old woman hailing from Kerala escaped an abduction attempt outside a temple on Sunday night after locals, who witnessed the incident, stopped the vehicle.

The incident was reported from outside Ayyappa Temple in Dilshad Garden around 8 pm.

The victim has been identified as Vijayalakshmi.

One of the abductors was apprehended by locals who handed him over to the police.  PTI

A Delhi court has sentenced an HIV-positive man and his wife to seven years in jail for robbery and house trespassing. The court said there were no grounds for leniency on account of health since such crimes were on the rise and needed to be curbed.
